Join our Developing Teaching Assistants Programme
Developing Teaching Assistants is a 3 session programme, delivered online, across the year, for those who are looking to develop their skills further in the role. The focus is firmly on supporting learning effectively and understanding the building blocks of learning.
The programme is running in association with Buckinghamshire New University.
The programme is designed to meet the DfE ‘Standard for Teachers Professional Development’ by being sustained over time, focused on raising standards and based in research evidence. As such, there will be a small task set between each day to help embed the learning taking place.
Focus of the sessions:
-
Session 1– An introduction to how children learn and the building blocks of learning, including prior learning.
-
Session 2– Securing children’s learning in their long-term memory and supporting children with poor working memory.
-
Session 3– Developing children’s independence in learning.
- Session 4- Enhancement Day with Buckinghamshire New University
