Join our Developing Middle Leadership Programme in 2025-26

Developing Middle Leadership is a programme specifically for primary teachers who would like to develop their leadership skills in managing people and change,  through subject or phase/year group leadership. Participants should be new to a middle leadership role or aspire to become a middle leader in the near future. The prgramme is now in association with Buckinghamshire New University.

There are three options for 2025-26

  • Attending the online cohort
  • Attending in the in person cohort in High Wycombe
  • Attending the in-person cohort plus the Buckinghamshire New University  enhancement sessions with masters credits

In person cohort

  • 3 face-to-face sessions
  • Day 1- Leading  and Managing Change
  • Day 2- Effective Leadership and Communication Styles
  • Day 3-  Managing people, Difficult Conversations and Coaching

In line with the DfE Standard for Teacher's Professional Development, the content of the programme is research based and participants will have small tasks between each session to help ensure sustained learning.

In person enhancement sessions with Bucks New Uni with Masters credits

These sessions will be optional (at additional cost) for in-person attendees.  There will be an  an evening induction before the first session and an associated assessment at the end. If the assessment is completed successfully, you will be awarded 20 masters credits with Bucks New University.

Cost of the enhancement sessions and the assessment- £900

Online Cohort

  • 3 zoom sessions
  • Day 1- Leading  and Managing Change
  • Day 2- Effective Leadership and Communication Styles
  • Day 3-  Managing people, Difficult Conversations and Coaching

Cost of the Programme

  • £300 per participant
  • Additional cost of optional enhancement with masters credits £900
  • £270 per participant if booking more than one
  • £200 per participant for schools with 100 pupils or fewer

          Enhancement- 1 Weds Dec 3rd 2025

    Day 2- Weds 11th Feb 2026

          Enhancement 2- Weds 18th March 2026

    Day 3- Weds 15th April 2026

          Enhancement 3-  Weds 6th May  2026

    Light lunch  and tea/coffee refreshments provided for in person sessions
