Designated Safeguarding Lead Training
This 2 -day training is for DSLs who are new to role. Starting in the role of DSL in an education setting can seem overwhelming at first. This training will equip those taking on the role with the skills to carry out the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead effectively within their education setting.
Content
To include:
- The roles and responsibilities of the DSL
- The legal frameworks underpinning the role including KCSiE and Working Together
- Managing and Understanding Risk
- Handling disclosures from children
- Good practice in record keeping
- Using threshold tools to make decisions
- Recognising and understanding grooming
- Supporting and training staff
- Preparing for Core Group meetings and Child Protection Conferences
- Responding to Low Level Concerns and serious allegations about staff
- Developing the safeguarding culture in your setting
- Learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews
